How We Work

Our Approach
to Delivery

We don't sell a methodology. We bring discipline, transparency, and accountability to every engagement, regardless of size or sector.

  1. Discovery
  2. Architecture
  3. Engineering
  4. Delivery
  5. Optimization

Five phases. Clear deliverables. No surprises.

Phase 01

Discovery & Scoping

Before any work begins, we invest time in genuinely understanding your environment, including your systems, your team, your constraints, and the problem you're actually trying to solve. We don't sell you a solution before we understand the problem.

For government engagements, this phase includes a review of applicable procurement requirements, security frameworks, and reporting obligations, so there are no surprises mid-contract.

Phase 02

Architecture & Design

We produce a clear technical blueprint before writing a single line of code. Every architectural decision is documented with explicit rationale, so you understand what was built and why, not just that it was built.

This phase includes data models, system diagrams, integration maps, and security considerations. For AI work, it includes model boundaries, evaluation criteria, and defined failure modes.

Phase 03

Engineering & Build

We build iteratively, with regular checkpoints and visible progress. Deliverables are production-grade from the start, not prototypes with a polished coat of paint. Code is documented, tested, and designed to be understood by someone other than the person who wrote it.

We work asynchronously well, which matters for government projects requiring audit trails and clear handoff documentation.

Phase 04

Delivery & Handoff

Launch is a milestone, not a finish line. We manage deployments carefully, document configurations, and ensure the people who will operate or maintain the system are genuinely prepared, not just handed a manual they'll never read.

For public sector clients, we align our handoff process with your IT governance requirements.

Phase 05

Ongoing Optimization

Post-launch, we remain available for monitoring, refinement, and evolution as your needs change. We can operate as an ongoing technical partner or transition cleanly to your internal team, whichever serves you better.

For AI systems, we treat post-launch evaluation and retraining as part of the engagement, not an optional add-on.

Engineering Principles

Clarity over cleverness

Simple, readable, well-documented systems outlast clever ones. We write code and architecture that the next engineer can understand and build on.

Production from day one

We don't build prototypes and call them MVPs. Every deliverable is built to the standard it will be held to in production: secure, observable, and maintainable.

Decisions in writing

Architectural decisions are documented with rationale, not just outcomes. This protects the client and creates knowledge that survives personnel changes.

No surprises

If something is harder than expected, we say so early. We'd rather have an uncomfortable conversation in week one than a failed delivery in month six.

AI with guardrails

We define evaluation criteria before deployment, constrain model behaviour where stakes are high, and treat uncertainty as a first-class engineering concern.

Accountability by default

We take ownership of what we build, through honest reporting, clean handoffs, and being the kind of partner a client can put in front of a government auditor with confidence.
